In 1929, in Jinyeong-eup, Gimhae-si, Gyeongsangnam-do, his father Sang-ho Son and his mother Kim Geun-i[5] 3 daughters of[6] Born as the eldest daughter. Son Myeong-sun's family was a conglomerate that ran a rubber company that was one of the largest in the country. She graduated from the College of Pharmacy at Ewha Womans University , and like Sunja Lee, she met her husband while attending Ewha Womans University. After Kim Young-sam 's death, he continued to live at his sister's residence in Sangdo-dong. March 7, 2024, approximately 8 years and 4 months after the death of her husband, former President Kim Young -sam.[10] He passed away at 17:39 at the age of 95. His cause of death was suk-hwan . Seoul National University Hospital announced that Ms. Son Myeong-sun remained hospitalized in December 2022 as her pneumonia worsened due to COVID-19 .[11]
With the death of Son Myeong-sun, all members of the Three Kims and their spouses have passed away. The funeral was held at the Seoul National University Hospital Funeral Hall, and the funeral was held for five days under the auspices of the Kim Young-sam Presidential Memorial Foundation. Some of the Sangdo-dong faction members , like Kim Moo-sung , guarded the funeral every day.
On the 11th of the same month, she was buried with her husband at the President Kim Young-sam Mausoleum at the Seoul National Cemetery .
