The president of the Algerian People's Democratic Republic is Algeria 's head of state . It will be elected by direct elections and final votes, and the term of office is five years and can be one time.[5] The candidate registration requires a signature signature of more than 600 elected officials or more than 50,000 voters.

  • Abdelmalek Benhabilis (عبد المالك بن حابيليس) served as acting president upon the death of Shadli Bendedid.
  • Mohamed Boudiaf (محمد بوضياف), 4th President and Chairman of the High Council of State, was assassinated four months after returning to Algeria from Morocco after accepting his post.
  • Ali Kafi (علي حسين كافي), 5th President and Chairman of the National High Council.
  • Liamin Jerual (اليمين زروال) is the 6th president of Algeria. He served as Minister of National Defense for about two months.
  • Abdelaziz Bouteflika (عبد العزيز بوتفليقة), Algeria's 7th President and 5th Chairman of the National Liberation Front , previously served as Algeria's Minister of Defense and Minister of Foreign Affairs. He also served as President of the United Nations General Assembly.
  • Abdelkhader Bensala (عبد القـادر بن صالح), Acting President. Previously, he also served as President of the National Council, the upper house of Algeria's bicameral parliament.
  • Abdelmajid Tebun (عبد المجيد تبون‎), 8th and current president of Algeria. Formerly Minister of Defense, Prime Minister, Minister of Commerce, Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Minister of Urban Development, Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Deputy Minister of Local Communities, Minister of Communications and Culture, again Deputy Minister of Local Communities, Governor Tiziouzoujou, Governor of Tiaret Province, etc. career is great.
