Hungary 's head of state . Since Hungary is a parliamentary government, the Hungarian president is more of an honorary post .

2. Term and election

The Hungarian President is elected through indirect elections by the Hungarian National Assembly . Any Hungarian citizen over the age of 35 can run for president. Elections are held within 30 to 60 days before the term of office of the Hungarian President expires, and the presidential candidate must be nominated by one-fifth of the Hungarian parliament.

The term of office is five years and can be extended once .
