Bulgarian head of state . The current president is Rumen Radef .

2. Term and election

The term of office of the President of Bulgaria is five years, and he can be reappointed once. The presidential election uses a runoff voting system instead of a direct election.

Bulgaria is a country with a parliamentary system of government , where the prime minister has strong authority and the president is an honorary position , so he has little authority. When the President is absent, the Vice President assumes the President's authority.
