Norway is a constitutional monarchy , with the King serving as the head of state. The current king is Harald V of the Glücksburg dynasty . As in other constitutional monarchies , the King has several powers, including the right to approve legislation.
Originally , the coronation ceremony was held in Bergen , and in the early days of the Oldenburg dynasty, when the King of Denmark was also the King of Norway, the coronation ceremony was held in Trondheim . However, from King Christian III onwards, the coronation ceremony was held in Denmark and the coronation ceremony was ended, and no coronation ceremony was held as the King of Norway.
