The 13th National Mother of Eswatini .[1] He is the co -head of state of Eswatini along with his son, King Mswati III .[2]

She was originally one of several queens of Swaziland 's 7th King Sobhuza II . After her husband's death, her descendant, King Mswati III, was elected as the successor to the throne. During the period when the throne was vacant until her son, who was a minor at the time, officially ascended to the throne, Dzeliwe, the mother of the nation, was deposed, and she, who became the new mother of the nation, took over the throne as regent. In 1986, her adult son ascended the throne as king, and her period of regency ended.
