The current royal family of Oman . It is a dynasty that has ruled Oman since the period of the Oman Empire, the predecessor of Oman, and also ruled the Sultanate of Zanzibar in the past.[1] The official name of the current monarch of Oman is Sultan .

He died in Muscat .[2] This is because Oman appears to be a monarchy on the outside , but in reality, it is an absolute monarchy . Haitham bin Tariq Al Said , who is currently serving as the King of Oman, holds the positions of Prime Minister, Minister of Defense, Minister of Finance, and Minister of Foreign Affairs, and thus holds all administrative, military, financial, and diplomatic powers.
