The current royal family of Bahrain . It was founded in 1766 and began to govern Bahrain in 1783.

Unlike most of their own people, who are Shi'ites , they believe in Sunni Islam, and many protests have occurred because of this.

As a member of the Bani Utub League, he lived in the Nejd Desert and migrated to Kuwait with the Sabah family in the 17th century. However, after a while, when the Sabah family ( the Sabah Dynasty ) seized the initiative in Kuwait , he moved to Jubaira in northern Qatar. Since then, he has ruled Bahrain to this day. In the 19th century , the Oman Empire and the Saud dynasty took control of Bahrain and faced a crisis such as being expelled, but it secured stability by signing a protectorate agreement with Britain . After independence, it is currently maintaining power by writing a friendship with Saudi Arabia and signing a subjugation.

Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa, the father of current King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa , abandoned the existing title Hakim and changed the name to Amir in 1971 , when it became an independent country after breaking away from the British protectorate. King Hamad raised his title to Malik, which means king, in 2002.

The current King , Hamad bin Isa al-Khalifa , pushed ahead with attacks on protesters during the 2011 Arab Spring . The world criticized the royal family, but this did not last long. The king requested help from nearby Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates and succeeded in suppressing the protesters using foreign troops .
