Together with the Schleswig Holstein Zone The Burg Dynasty, it was the two divisions of the Oldenburg dynasty , the dynasty of the Russian Empire , Sweden and the Oldenburgs .
2. Confrontation
Adolf, the first duke, had a good relationship with his half-brother Christian III both publicly and privately, but as time went by, his descendants joined hands with Sweden and pursued independence and came into conflict with Denmark.
In 1667, when the branch of the Counts of Oldenburg was cut off, the heads of the main family became the King of Denmark and King of Norway. When Frederick III attempted to reclaim the County of Oldenburg, the Holstein-Gottorp dynasty claimed the earldom.
Later, in 1721, the Great Northern War ended and Denmark occupied the Duchy of Holstein-Gottorp. Karl Friedrich , Duke of Holstein-Gottorp , died while traveling between Sweden and the Russian Empire , and his only son , Karl Peter Ulrich , became Duke.
Then, in 1762, when the Russian Empire Yelizabeta Petrobna died, her mother -in -law Karl Peter Ulrich was crowned as Russian emperor Peter III . In the monarchy of the country, he was better than the main family.
Peter III planned to invade Denmark to regain the Holstein Gotarf, who was occupied by Denmark, but was defeated by the death of Yekaterina II .
Later, in 1773, the Russian Crown Prince and Duke of Holstein-Gottorp Pavel I and the Danish King and head of the Oldenburg Dynasty, Christian VII , exchanged territories and reconciled with each other for the first time in over 200 years.
Afterwards, in 1863, when the main family of the Oldenburg dynasty (Danish royal family) was cut off and the Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg branch of the Oldenburg dynasty competed for the Danish throne, which was the title of the main family, the Holstein-Gottorp family was pushed down in the succession order, whether on the paternal or maternal line.[1] He had no interest in the Danish throne and did not participate in the succession to the Danish throne.

3.3. Holstein-Gothor Promanov dynasty (head family)
Sijo Adolf's direct six -year -old Peter III inherited Russia, and opened the Holstein Gotor Promaov dynasty . For convenience, it is called the Romanov dynasty . Since the household of Peter III was the closing price of the Holstein Gotorf family, the Russian emperors of the Russian Empire after Peter II were also the servants of the Holstein Gotorf family. Nikolai II is famous, but not all of the Roman Nov families have been killed, so the successor to the Oldenburgs ( the head of the Glaxburg Dynasty ) is the highest.

However, the Swedish Holstein-Gottorp dynasty was cut off in 1818 after the reign of Charles XIII . 3.5. Grand Duchess of Oldenburg
It is the lineage of Georg Ludwig , the youngest brother of Adolf Fredrik , who became King of Sweden .
Through the exchanges between Christian VII of Denmark and Pavel I of the Russian Empire , Holstein Gotorf was re -sold as a Danish Holstein Principal, and the Oldenburg Paikguk was the first brother of Adolf Fred Leak, and Friedrich August I, the first brother of Adolf Fred Leak . After being elected, he moved to the Holstein Gotorf family and was promoted to the Aldenburg Grand Prize after the Napoleon War . The son of Friedrich August I[5] Wilhelm died without a successor, and his cousin's younger brother, Peter (Adolf Fred Leak and Friedrich August I), became the next Duke, and to date, the Grand Duke of the Oldenburgs has been descended to the descendants of Peter I.
After the defeat of the German Empire in World War I and the abolition of the Empire, the last Archduke Frederick August II of the Grand Duchy of Oldenburg also abdicated and the Grand Duchy of Oldenburg also collapsed.
The last Grand Duke Frederick August II had 2 sons and 5 daughters, but as the second daughter and second son died young, only one son and three daughters actually married as adults.
Former Grand Duke Nicolaus von Oldenburg, the sole heir, married Princess Helen of Waldeckfermont and had six sons and three daughters. Helen's brother was Josias Chu Waldeck und Pyrmont, but Josias, on the other hand, married Nicolaus's sister, Princess Altburg von Oldenburg. In other words, siblings are double in-laws .
Unlike most of the other German ruling families that had been cut off, here, on the contrary, it was quite prosperous.[6]
Currently, there are 18 male descendants of this family. Considering that when Nicholas was the grand prince, there was only one successor, the number increased enormously.
Contrary to its name, the Archduchy of Oldenburg, it is the head of the Oldenburg dynasty and is last in the line of succession to the head of the Glücksburg dynasty . The Grand Duchy of Oldenburg is truly worthless... For reference, it is the furthest from the main family of the Glücksburg dynasty on the paternal line, but it is quite close on the maternal line. Christoph , who was the head of the Oldenburg dynasty and the head of the Glücksburg dynasty, is the maternal great-grandson of Frederick August II, the last Grand Duke of the Grand Duchy of Oldenburg, and is the biological great-grandson of Frederick August II and the current Grand Duke of Oldenburg. He is the 8th cousin on the maternal line with Christian , the leader, and Friedrich Ferdinand (1985 ~ ), Christoph's eldest son and current leader, is Christian's 9th cousin.
