King of Norway . The only son of Haakon VII and Maud, Princess of Wales, and the current King of Norway. Father of Harald V.
2. career
The only son of King Haakon VII , he was born in 1903 during the reign of his maternal grandfather, Edward VII, in England. He was baptized at St. Mary Magdalene Church .
As a member of the Danish royal family, he was named Alexander Edward Christian Frederik, and at the age of two, when his father Karl ascended the Norwegian throne under the name of Haakon VII, he added the Norwegian name Olaf after Saint Olaf .
He was a gold medalist in sailing at the 1928 Amsterdam Olympics .

He laid the foundation for a constitutional monarchy and showed generosity by allowing Crown Prince Harald to marry a commoner.[2]

Later, when the King was asked whether he could do such a thing without bodyguards, he left behind the famous quote, "I have 4 million bodyguards." At that time, the population of Norway was 4 million.
In 2005, in a survey commemorating the 100th anniversary of Norway's independence, he was named 'the greatest Norwegian'. For reference, the late King Hakon VII was ranked 8th. #
