Haakon VI was the fourth co-king of the Swedish Volkung dynasty.[1] He is the last king (reign: 1362-1364) and the second king of the Norwegian Polkung dynasty (reign: August 15, 1343-1380). The Norwegian name is 'Håkon', and the Swedish name is 'Håkan'.
2. career
He was born around 1340 as the second son of King Magnus IV of Sweden and his wife Blanche de Namur. He was crowned King Haakon VI of Norway on 15 August 1343 , and in 1363 he married Margaret I of Denmark. On February 15, 1362, he was crowned King of Sweden by Swedish nobles , but was dethroned by Albrecht, Duke of Mecklenburg-Schwerin in 1364 . He died in 1380 and the Norwegian throne passed to his son , Olaf IV .
