Sweden's first king of the Munsö dynasty.

Born and died between 945 and 995, he is the de facto founder of the Munsoe dynasty and the first Swedish king whose existence has been confirmed . He greatly expanded the territory he ruled, taking over most of southern Sweden and was called 'Eirik the Victorious'.[1] Also called Bjorn the Strong (Bjǫrn Járnsíða), one of the sons of the legendary Viking Ragnar Lodbrok . However, Adam of Bremen in the late 10th century does not mention Bjorn the Strong or his children, but gives a completely different genealogy, and a figure who could be the motif of Bjorn the Strong is recorded in the Frankish records of the mid-9th century.[2] The genealogical records linking him to Eric VI go back at least to the 13th century, so it is highly likely that they are not true.

However, he is the first king of Sweden whose existence has been confirmed. If you include the Swedish kings whose existence has not been confirmed, he is not the first king. So, although he is the first king, his royal title is 6 years old. This is because among the previous kings of Sweden whose existence has not been confirmed, there are five kings who used 'Eirik/Erik' as their title.
