In 2001, she fell in love with Daniel Westling , whom she met as a personal fitness trainer, and on February 14, 2009, on Valentine's Day , while taking a walk at Drottningholm Palace, Daniel proposed to Crown Princess Victoria. Ten days later, on February 24th, they officially announced their engagement.

On June 19, 2010, they got married at Stockholm Cathedral. She wore the Cameo Tiara, a gift from Napoleon to Joséphine de Beauharnais in 1809, and Queen Sofia 's Brussels lace . Crown Princess Margareta 's myrtle was used in the headdress and bouquet .
