On August 17, 2011, the Swedish royal family announced that Crown Princess Victoria was pregnant with her first child. He was born on February 23, 2012, at 4:26 a.m. local time in Sweden, at Karolinska University Hospital, weighing 3.28 kg and measuring 51 cm. She is the first woman in Swedish history to become a successor as soon as she was born.[1] , a 42-gun salute was fired to commemorate the birth .

Godparents are maternal uncle Prince Carl Philip , aunt Anna Westling Söderström, King of the Netherlands Willem Alexander , Queen Mary , then Crown Princess of Denmark , and Crown Prince Haakon of Norway . He wore the baptismal gown that had been used since the christening of his great -grandfather, Prince Gustav Adolf, in 1906 , and after the ceremonial ceremony, he was laid in the baptismal cradle of King Karl XI . He also received the Order of Seraphim, the Swedish royal family's highest honor, from his grandfather, Carl XVI Gustav .

- She is the godmother of her younger cousin , Princess Innes, Duchess of Västerbotten . Princess Innes is the youngest and eldest daughter of Prince Carl Philip, Duke of Värmland , and Princess Sofia .
[1] When Crown Princess Victoria was born, the law of absolute primogeniture was not followed, so her younger brother , Prince Carl Philip, who was born after Victoria, was not the crown prince . However, two years later, in 1980, the law of succession to the throne was revised to make it an absolute eldest child, and the eldest Victoria became the crown princess .
