Originally, there was a Renaissance- style palace called Tre Kronor, which means Castle of the Three Crowns, but this palace burned down shortly after the death of Karl XI in 1697. The problem was that Sweden's national treasury was depleted as Charles XII , who succeeded Charles Eventually, the royal family, including Karl[1] had to live in
It was only after the Great Northern War ended with the Treaty of Nystad in 1721 that opinions on the construction of a new palace were presented, and a new Baroque -style palace was completed in 1754 under the leadership of French architects and Carl Gustaf Tessin . At this time, it was the reign of Queen Ulrika Eleonora's husband, Frederick I, and King Adolf Frederick of the Holstein-Gottorp dynasty . The new palace was completed about 50 years after Tre Kronor burned down.

Basically, you can tour the royal palace and the attached chapel, and you can additionally tour the underground royal treasury (Skattkammaren), Museum Tre Kronor, and Gustav III:s antikmuseum . The current royal palace was built during the Holstein-Gottorp dynasty, so if you want to know the history of the previous Vasa dynasty or Palatinate-weibrücken dynasty, we recommend the Tre Kronor Museum. Aside from the places mentioned, be sure to check out the Royal Chamber (Livrustkammaren) as it is free regardless of the entrance fee to the palace.
If you visit from 11:30 am to 12:00 noon, you can see the royal guard changing ceremony.
For an additional fee, you can get a ticket to the Riddarholmskyrkan, Sweden's royal mausoleum .

- Until Gustav VI Adolf, the Bernadotte dynasty lived at Stockholm Palace, but the current King of Sweden, Carl XVI Gustaf 's family , lives not at Stockholm Palace, but at nearby Drottningholm Palace .
- Nobel laureates are presented at the Stockholm City Hall and attend a dinner hosted by the King of Sweden at the Stockholm Palace.
- Several medals are on display at the palace, and the medal awarded to former President Lee Myung-bak is still on display.
- As is usual with old castles, there are rumors that it is haunted. The most famous ghost is the white woman[2] Described as a dark, tall woman with a beautiful appearance, she is said to appear in the palace just before or after someone dies.
