1. outline

The year 1973 is a common year starting on Monday .

This is the year Pink Floyd released The Dark Side of the Moon and completely changed the standard way of listening to music. From this year until 1988, The Dark Side of the Moon charted on the Billboard charts.

It was also the year when American politics became fraught with the Watergate incident . In February 1973, the Senate established a special committee to investigate Watergate, and at the end of the year, Nixon made his famous statement, “I am not a crook!” If we were to limit ourselves to the United States, we could say that it was a year that started with Watergate and ended with Watergate. In the Middle East, this is the year the fourth Middle East war broke out.

From this year, full-scale national meteorological observations began.[1]

2. climate

Seoul’s average monthly temperature statistics were as follows. In particular, it was very warm with strong high temperatures centered on January and February, and abnormally high temperatures continued until August. In particular, as mentioned earlier, because the rainy season was very short, the summer season was also quite hot, especially in July, and precipitation was very small.[2] However, with the onset of La Niña in the second half of the year, abnormally low temperatures continued from October to December . In particular , a very strong cold wave occurred in December , and these low temperatures persisted until the following year .
