  • Hangeul Day : In the original Hunminjeongeum Haeryebon, 'the first half of September in the 28th year of King Sejong ' was recorded, and based on this, October 9 converted into the Gregorian calendar was set as Hangeul Day. It has been designated as a public holiday since the establishment of the government of the Republic of Korea, but it has been excluded from public holidays since 1991, citing criticism from economic organizations that there are too many holidays such as Armed Forces Day, National Foundation Day , and Hangeul Day only in October, which could slow down the pace of economic development.[3] It was included as a public holiday again in 2013 thanks to the continuous public opinion on re-designation as a holiday, including from Hangeul groups .
