From ancient times to the Middle Ages, they are the people who were in charge of the mainstream of Yemen .

It was mentioned in the Old Testament in the Queen of Sheba, and some of them advanced into Ethiopia and established the kingdom of Aksum .

The Sabeans established their own civilization by building the Kingdom of Himyar in AD , but lost their independence as they were ruled by the Kingdom of Aksum and the Sassanid Dynasty .

It was Islamized in the 7th century and lost the Saba language, but it was related by blood to the Yemeni people .[1]
