She was born at the Marble Palace in Potsdam on July 25, 1860, as the fourth daughter of Prince Friedrich Charles of Prussia and Princess Maria Anna of Anhalt-Dessau. Her parents' marriage was unhappy, and after Louise was born, Friedrich Karl beat his wife, claiming that she would only have daughters. It is said that it was Wilhelm I who prevented their divorce . Five years later, my younger brother was born.

In 1878, he met the British Prince Arthur, who visited the big sister Victoria . Queen Victoria did not covet Louise's ordinary appearance and parents' discord, but he met Louis in person and allowed marriage to be very kind and lovely.


They were married on March 13, 1879, at St. George's Chapel, Windsor Castle. After her marriage, she became the Duchess of Connaught and Strathearn and changed her name to Louise Margaret. He had one son and two daughters: Margaret , Arthur (born 1883), and Patricia (born 1886).
Louise Margaret, the Duchess of Connaught, spent the first 20 years of her marriage traveling throughout the British Empire with her husband. After 1900, the Duke and Duchess of Connaught lived mainly at Bagshot Park and Clarence House in Surrey.
Louise Margaret also accompanied her husband Arthur to Canada when he began his term as Governor-General in 1911. In 1916, she became colonel of the 199th Canadian Overseas Infantry Battalion, CEF, under her patronage under Harry Trehey, the regiment's principal organizer and first commander during World War I.

3.2. Dead
In 1917, at the age of 56, he died of Spanish flu and bronchitis at Clarence House . Louise Margaret's remains were cremated , making her the first member of the British royal family to be cremated. The procedure of burying ashes in an urn was still unfamiliar at the time, and the urn was moved into a regular coffin at the funeral. His nephew, King George V , also ordered four weeks of mourning and a military honor guard during the funeral. Her ashes were buried in Frogmore Royal Cemetery. Her husband , Connaught, and Prince Arthur, Duke of Strathearn , lived another 25 years after Louise Margaret's death, dying in 1942.
The maternity hospital adjacent to the Cambridge Military Hospital in Aldershot was named the Louise Margaret Maternity Hospital after her. She is said to have laid the foundation stone of this hospital, built for the wives and children of the Aldershot garrison.
