In the 1990s , the line color was orange, but currently, the Bundang Line is marked in yellow on Naver Map and Kakao Map .
Contrary to its name, Bundang Line , there are more stations in Gangnam-gu . There are 10 stations in Gangnam-gu and 7 in Bundang-gu , and if expanded to the entire city of Seongnam, there are 10 stations like Gangnam-gu. And among the subways that pass through Gangnam-gu, Gangnam-gu has the most stations (excluding stations on the border with other districts). There are 4 Line 2 stations ( Gangnam Station is on the border between Seocho-gu and Gangnam-gu), 4 Line 7 stations ( Nonhyeon Station is on the border), and 5 Line 9 stations ( Sinnonhyeon Station is on the border). There are 9 Lines 3 , but Sinsa Station and Yangjae Station are on the border. Yangjae Station is a station on the border between Gangnam-gu and Seocho-gu, but its address is Seocho-gu. If Yangjae Station is included as a station in Gangnam-gu, there are 10, so the number of stations will be the same as the Bundang Line. It is a good idea to refer to the document on the controversy over station installation on the Bundang Line/Gangnam section of the Seoul Metropolitan Subway .
The Suseo ↔ Ori section connecting Bundang City is a fairly old route. It was built in 1994, which is earlier than the second subway. It is also the earliest subway line to be built, excluding the four subway lines of the first phase.
True to the name of the line, it was built as a line connecting Seoul Metropolitan City and Bundang New Town, and as a 'wide area railway', it is operated as a left-hand drive at interchanges. However, since most of the section is underground, this line is a fairly rare alternating current single feeder line among subway lines in the world. In general, since alternating current has a higher voltage than direct current, it is necessary to have a long insulation distance, which means that the tunnel area must be larger (increased construction cost), so direct current is more suitable for subways than alternating current. Of course, if it is AC low voltage, it is not a problem, but since AC is adopted to increase power transmission efficiency through high voltage conversion, AC low voltage is meaningless.
Looking at the name Bundang Line alone, it appears to be a metropolitan railway that quickly connects Bundang and Seoul, but its actual role is closer to an urban railway. In particular, the Gaepo-dong section is often criticized because it is a Gangnam 3-ri village railway with too many stations. Not only this section but also other sections have short inter-station distances, a low maximum speed of 80 km/h, and most of the sections are underground, so there are many restrictions on express operation due to the lack of evacuation lines. It serves as a high-speed connection between Bundang and the southern region and Seoul. I failed to do it.
Still, the Bundang Line, especially the Wangsimni - Jukjeon section, has quite a lot of users. This is because it passes through densely populated areas from north to south, and the distance and route between stations are appropriate to meet the demand for the section between downtown Suwon - Yeongtong - western Yongin - Bundang - downtown Seongnam - Gangnam, Seoul - Wangsimni. When traveling from Suwon to Seoul due to concerns about the unstable security at Suwon Station or the quality of the aging Seoul Metropolitan Subway Line 1, some people insist on only taking the Bundang Line, regardless of where in Seoul it is. In Gangnam, compared to Line 3, which is a detour route, or the Shinbundang Line, which requires separate fares, the Bundang Line is almost the only route that passes through the North and South, and Seongnam- si , Yongin- si , and Suwon -si rank 4th (approximately 950,000 people), 2nd (approximately 1.07 million people), and 1st (approximately 1.2 million people) in Gyeonggi-do's population rankings, respectively. This shows that as of 2018, the highest congestion on the Bundang Line was 182% # at Gangnam-gu Office → Seonjeongneung on the outbound line at 8 a.m. After the final opening of Suwon Station, demand between Seongnam and Suwon has increased significantly and is booming.
In fact, public transportation from Seongnam/Bundang to Suwon includes the metropolitan seat buses Suwon Bus 2007 , Suwon Bus 4000 , and Seongnam Bus 4500 , and the regular buses Gyeonggi Gwangju Bus 720-1 and Gyeonggi Gwangju Bus 720-2 , but traffic congestion is severe on Poeun-daero and Yonggu -daero . A representative example is the section between Pungdeokcheon Intersection ~ Jukjeon Station ~ Ori Station. Metropolitan seated buses have long intervals, and regular buses often go on tours of Suji and Bundang , and a distance that can be covered in less than an hour by car takes longer than that by public transportation. However, with the final opening of the Bundang Line, although the line is not straight, the time required to get to Suwon Station has been shortened to about 50 minutes to 1 hour from the main city of Seongnam and about 35 to 50 minutes from Bundang. In addition, the demand between Seongnam and Suwon has increased significantly due to the inconvenience of road traffic due to the sprawling development in the western part of Yongin City. On the other hand, transportation from the northwest of Yongin and Yeongtong in the area south of Bojeong Station to Suwon Station has also been significantly improved. In the Giheung-gu area, where Bojeong Station and Sanggal Station are located, it is common to exit at Singal Intersection and take a bus to Suwon Station. There are buses that go to Suwon Station at once, such as Suwon Bus 37 , but the interval between departures is average, about 10 to 15 minutes. In addition, there is considerable demand for Suwon Yeongtong ↔ Gangnam, and it is also a good route to go from Dongsuwon, Yongin, and Seongnam to the northeastern part of Seoul.
As it passes through many transfer stations, residential areas, and commercial districts, demand for certain sections rather than the entire section is mainly concentrated. No matter how many people you bring from Suwon Station or Jukjeon Station, it is not difficult to get a seat because people get off here and there. For example, in the Bundang section, which can be considered the main section, people frequently get off and get on and off at many stations, such as Jeongja Station , which is a transfer station for the Shinbundang Line, Seohyeon Station, which has a developed commercial district led by the AK Plaza Bundang branch , and Yatap Station , where Seongnam Bus Terminal is located. . There is also a lot of demand for sections within downtown Suwon . Since Suwon Station ↔ Cheongmyeong Station passes through a section where bus demand has been high in the past, you can often see people using the Bundang Line to travel short distances within Suwon city. This is in contrast to the Gwacheon Line, which does not have many transfer stations and most users travel to and from Seoul rather than traveling between sections, so there is almost no seat available from Geumjeong Station to Sadang Station.
Transfer stations are Wangsimni Station ( Line 2 , Line 5 , Gyeongui/Jungang Line ), Gangnam-gu Office Station ( Line 7 ), Seonjeongneung Station ( Line 9 ), Seolleung Station ( Line 2 ), Dogok Station ( Line 3 ), Suseo Station ( Line 3 ), Bokjeong Station ( Line 8 ), Moran Station ( Line 8 ), Imae Station ( Gyeonggang Line ) , Jeongja Station ( Shinbundang Line ), Migeum Station ( Sinbundang Line ), Giheung Station ( Yongin Light Rail ), Suwon Station ( Line 1 , Suin Line ).
It was one of the economic cycle railway routes that had been discussed in the past .

7. station list
8. look around
[1] In reality, the operating system is separated at the next station, Goseok Station .[2] It is between Suseo Station and Kyungwon University Station (now Gachon University Station) . It had already been completed in 1994 when the Bundang Line opened, but it was delayed due to a transfer connection to Line 8.[3] It is between Yatap Station and Seohyeon Station . It was built in the middle of a tunnel for the first time in a metropolitan subway . This is the same case as Dongmyo Station on the Metropolitan Subway Line 1, which opened in 2005, and Yongdu Station on the Seoul Subway Line 2 ( Seongsuji Line ) .[4] It is between Dogok Station and Gaepo-dong Station . The opening was delayed due to a setback in the procurement of the construction cost by the Gangnam-gu Office, which had promised to pay for the construction cost.[5] Before the extension of Wangsimni Station, it did not meet any other lines belonging to the Korea Railroad Corporation .[6] At the same time , according to Ministry of Land, Transport and Maritime Affairs Notice No. 2013-585, the railway distance table was changed.
