In China, it was a time when the Northern and Southern Dynasties were once again emerging as a unified empire. The Northern Dynasty faced the division of East and West, but was unified by the Northern Zhou. In 581, Yang Jian, who overthrew the Northern Zhou government, established the Sui Dynasty and destroyed the Southern Dynasty's Jin, making China a unified empire again in 589.

In Korea, Silla is on the Korean Peninsula from the 6th century. It occupies the central region and faces its heyday . It is also regarded as the sixth century when Mahan's remaining forces are converted into Baekje's direct rule.

In Japan, it was a period transitioning from the Kofun period to the Asuka period , and it began to be incorporated into the East Asian international order through contact with China's Northern and Southern Dynasties and the unified Sui Dynasty. Japan in the 6th century was greatly influenced by China's Southern Dynasties and Baekje.
