A state located on the Atlantic coast of northeastern Brazil . With an area of about 565,733 km², it is the fifth largest in Brazil and is comparable in area to Kenya or mainland France in Europe. Its population was estimated at 15,203,934 in 2015, making it the fourth largest. Major cities include Salvador, the capital , and Peiraj Santana .
The origin of the name is Portuguese , the word 'Baía', which means ' man '[1] ) '. It is exactly 'Baía de totos OS Santos', a man where the leading South Bador is located . The Bay of all adults is the Bay of Brazil , where the Portuguese fleet, which is exploring Brazil after discovering Brazil, is the Catholic festival of all adults .
The capital, Salvador, was the administrative center of Portuguese Brazil from 1549 to 1763, when the Viceroy was established. However, in the 17th century, the Dutch occupied it for 30 years and the discovery of large-scale gold mines in the interior of the southeast led to the administrative center being moved to Rio de Janeiro in 1763.
As of 2015, mixed-race people accounted for 59.5% of the population, blacks 20.0%, and whites 19.7%. In the city of Salvador, the state with the highest proportion of black population in Brazil, the black population reached 36.7%. In that sense, the area is also the center of black culture in Brazil.
world class musician Astrud Gilberto and Caetano Veloso , Gilberto Giu , fashion models Adriana Lima and Dani Alves , one of the best fullbacks of all time , are from here.
Meanwhile, in a remote place called São Marcello in this state, the General Assembly of Ten Gyesukguk , a Korean pseudo-religion ,[2] lives in a closed society.
[1] It is a cognate language with the English word Bay .[2] Also known as Dolnara. It is a pseudo-religion with Park Gwang-gyu as its leader and is notorious for its doctrine of the harlot cross .
