A Korean -Canadian singer , after graduating from Seoul Gujeong Elementary School and Gujeong Middle School , he immigrated to Canada in 1993 and majored in vocal music at the University of Calgary .[6] After graduating, he returned to Korea to debut as a singer and debuted under his real name at DSP Media in 2000 , but did not see the light of day. After transferring to Leega Planning, he has been working under his current stage name since 2002 . Regarding the name, Jeong Yeop's Power Stage revealed that the name originally used in Canada was Liz, but the agency's president changed it to Leeds, an industrial city in England, because "we wanted the name to remind us of the region, like the group Chicago."

In 2002, he released his first album 'Obsession' under his stage name. The title song is 《 You Would Live in Happiness 》 , a song that is quite well-known to the public.
