Just like Seventeen and i-dle , which are well-known as idol groups capable of self-producing, all members of DIA have the ability to write lyrics and compose music.

Based on the current members, the order in which they joined the agency is Ki Hee-hyun , Eunice , Jung Chae-yeon , and Ye-bin , and the new members who joined are Eun-chae and Joo- eun.

In June 2015, they were revealed as T-ara 's direct junior group by MBK Entertainment . The members at the beginning of their debut were Eunice , Ki Hee-hyun , Jenny , Eun-jin , Ye-bin , and Jung Chae-yeon , but Seung-hee , a former member of Five Dolls , their direct senior group, was the last to join just before debut. Originally, it was planned to air as an audition program for DIA's debut group instead of SIXTEEN , which selects TWICE 's debut group, but it was ultimately canceled.
