Montenegrin : Cetinje / Цетиње
It is the old capital of Montenegro . The name of the official administrative district is 'PRIJESTONICA CETINJE / пријестоница цетиње'. The population is only about 14,000.
In fact, both in pronunciation and writing, Cetinje is the correct spelling, but according to Article 5 of the Serbo-Croatian Foreign Word Spelling Rules, the National Institute of the Korean Language has decided on 'Cetine' as the standard spelling. The North Korean spelling is 'Zetinje'. This is a similar case to Skopje (Скопје / Skopje) , the capital of North Macedonia .

Established around the 15th century, it was the royal capital of Montenegro for a long time. In 1910, when Nicolas I declared the Principality of Montenegro the Kingdom of Montenegro, the population was 5,895, so it was known as the least populated city among world capitals at the time.[1] In 1918, it was annexed to the Kingdom of Serbia and turned into an ordinary small town. After World War II , when the Socialist Republic of Montenegro was established in the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, it had no opportunity for revival as its capital was set at Titograd . Still, it was a major city within the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, so it was selected as a city of people's heroes.
When Montenegro became independent in 2006, it was decided to place the presidential residence in Cetine.[2] The fact that Cetinje is the old royal capital is not a custom, but is clearly stated in the Constitution (Article 5, Paragraph 2). In fact, the apartment where the former Montenegrin royal family, the Petrovicnyegosh family, resides is also located in Cetine.

It is surrounded by limestone mountains, and the country's name , Montenegro, meaning 'black mountain,' comes from one of them, Lovcen (Ловћен) Mountain.
